NAVEX has announced its Artificial Intelligence at Work training program specifically designed to educate EU employees on artificial intelligence risks and best practices in response to the implementation of the European Union's AI Act. The localized course introduces learners to critical AI fundamentals, including capabilities, variations, and workplace applications while addressing the regulatory obligations imposed on companies using high-risk AI systems. The training covers essential topics such as ethical considerations including fairness, discrimination, transparency, and accountability, along with guidelines on data privacy, security, and compliance requirements.
The program provides employees with a foundational understanding of artificial intelligence, including how it works, various applications, and overviews of machine learning, natural language processing, and automation tools. It specifically addresses AI tools that employees may encounter in workplace settings and common use cases such as workflow automation and data analysis. Jen Farthing, General Manager of Training Content at NAVEX, emphasized that while AI brings tremendous opportunity to the workplace, it also poses significant risks that require proper training to ensure responsible, efficient, and ethical use of these tools.
Training serves as a critical component for organizations to mitigate risks associated with AI implementation, ensure compliance with data privacy laws, and prevent potential biases that may result from automated systems. The program also empowers employees to leverage AI effectively to enhance productivity, creativity, and decision-making capabilities while avoiding pitfalls such as over-reliance on automated systems. Organizations can download the EU AI Act playbook for comprehensive information on regulatory requirements, implementation challenges, and strategies for proactive compliance management.
NAVEX additionally offers an Artificial Intelligence Basics version of the course tailored for employees outside the European Union, providing global organizations with the necessary tools to address AI integration challenges across different regulatory environments. The training program represents a significant step in helping organizations stay ahead of both the benefits and risks presented by rapidly evolving AI technologies while maintaining compliance with emerging regulatory frameworks.
