Hong Kong Tech Companies Showcase AI Innovations at GITEX Global 2025 to Tap Middle East Market

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation are collaborating to present two pavilions at GITEX Global 2025, featuring 22 exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge technologies in artificial intelligence, robotics, IoT and green technology. The event, taking place from October 13-17 in Dubai, represents a strategic move to help Hong Kong's technology enterprises explore business opportunities in the rapidly expanding Middle East market while promoting Hong Kong's advantages as an international innovation and technology hub.

Daniel Lam, Regional Director of the Middle East and Africa of the HKTDC, emphasized the strategic importance of this initiative, noting that Middle Eastern countries have been actively developing their AI capabilities by leveraging unique advantages in low-cost energy and capital strength. The Hong Kong Tech Pavilions at GITEX Global 2025 will connect promising Hong Kong innovation and technology enterprises with partners throughout the Middle East and beyond, facilitating international expansion while attracting global investors to use Hong Kong as a gateway to China and the broader Asian region.

The timing aligns with Hong Kong SAR Chief Executive John Lee's recent Policy Address, which identified AI as the key driving force of the next wave of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation. Hong Kong's strengths in scientific research, capital, data and talent position it to become a global hub for AI development, supported by a thriving startup ecosystem that has grown to nearly 4,700 startups according to InvestHK's 2024 Startup Survey.

Exhibitors at the Hong Kong Tech Pavilions demonstrate the diversity and sophistication of the region's AI capabilities. The HKSAR Environmental Protection Department is showcasing AI applications for environmental assessment and planning, including the development of an AI Environmental Air Nuisance Investigation Robot Dog and AI systems for monitoring noise and wastewater. TradeMonday offers a vertical GenAI SaaS platform that automates retail analytics and workflows, transforming data into profit-driving decisions with pre-trained AI agents. Chain Technology Development Co. Limited presents its award-winning Digital Twin solution that combines AI, IoT data and spatial intelligence to address needs in architecture, engineering, construction and operation industries for smarter, safer and more sustainable smart cities.

Beyond the exhibition itself, the HKTDC will host a networking dinner on October 14 with the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Dubai, expected to attract approximately 80 industry representatives from local and international sectors. Additionally, the organization will coordinate 12 pitching sessions where participating companies can present their innovative solutions directly to investors, businesses and government agencies. The parallel pavilion at Expand North Star at Dubai Harbour from October 12-15, led by HKSTP, will showcase innovative solutions from 10 park companies, with participating startups also competing in the Supernova Challenge pitching competition.

This marks the return of Hong Kong Tech Pavilions to GITEX Global since 2020, reflecting the growing interest among Hong Kong's technology SMEs and startups in accessing Middle Eastern markets. The initiative supports both the expansion of Hong Kong companies internationally and addresses the Middle East's developing AI infrastructure needs, while simultaneously promoting the Hong Kong startup ecosystem to global investors and partners.
