For decades, golfers have spent countless hours on the range and taken endless lessons, yet many still struggle to improve. The reason, according to SG Lab, is that the most critical elements of a swing—hand pressure and the club's subtle movements—cannot be seen with the naked eye. Existing launch monitors and swing analyzers provide result-based data such as distance and direction, but they fail to explain why those results occurred. SG Lab's new G·GRIP Pro aims to change that by being the world's first AI-powered golf club with built-in sensors capable of analyzing grip pressure in real time.
The G·GRIP Pro integrates sensors directly inside the club, eliminating the need for separate cameras or wearable devices. It collects a wide array of data, including finger-by-finger pressure changes, swing path, face angle, and tempo. From address to impact, it visualizes how hand pressure and swing flow change, allowing golfers to understand not just the outcome of a swing but the underlying causes of instability. By correlating grip pressure with swing path and face angle, the club enables more fundamental swing correction.
What sets the G·GRIP Pro apart is its focus on analyzing the cause rather than just the result. Measured data is stored as a "Swing DNA," allowing golfers to accumulate personal swing patterns and compare them against their best swings. The AI-based coaching system provides intuitive sentence-style feedback, helping users easily understand both the cause of issues and ways to improve. Real-time feedback through haptic and earbud support allows immediate correction during play, while the club maintains a weight and balance similar to a conventional golf club for a natural feel. On-device data storage, IP68 waterproof and dustproof protection, and a long-lasting battery make it practical for real field environments.
The G·GRIP Pro was developed based on the long coaching experience of founder Eddie Cho, a former PGA professional. It presents a new approach that expands traditional feel-based golf instruction into data-driven training. The company is currently conducting technical validation in collaboration with multiple PGA professionals and global golf academies, while pursuing future market expansion with the ultimate goal of standardizing golf data.
An SG Lab representative stated, "G·GRIP Pro is not simply a swing measurement device, but a data-driven golf training tool that helps golfers accurately understand and repeatedly refine their swings," adding, "Through this Kickstarter launch, we aim to introduce a new data-driven golf experience to golfers around the world."
SG Lab's G·GRIP Pro will be available for backing on the Kickstarter website starting October 6th, 2026, with special benefits planned for launch day backers. The launch matters because it brings professional-grade swing diagnostics to everyday golfers, potentially transforming how the sport is taught and learned. By making the invisible causes of poor shots visible, the G·GRIP Pro could reduce the reliance on subjective feel and accelerate improvement, ultimately raising the standard of golf instruction worldwide.
