China Telecom Launches OneGrowth Initiative to Deepen AI and Digital Cooperation Across Asia-Pacific

China Telecom has officially launched the OneGrowth Global Collaboration and Co-Creation Initiative at the China Telecom Smart APAC · AI Innovation Summit held in Bangkok, Thailand. The summit, which attracted nearly 400 guests from across the Asia-Pacific region, brought together government representatives, leading telecom operators, technology innovation companies, and industry customers to explore AI infrastructure development, technological innovation, and industry applications. The initiative represents a major push to align global digital and AI capabilities with local industry requirements, signaling a new phase of regional cooperation.

The launch ceremony included representatives from partners such as Singtel, NTT, AIS, TRUE, ETL, MEASAT, and SenseTime. Since the initial launch of OneGrowth in 2025, China Telecom has promoted a cooperation philosophy of "Open, Nurture, and Empower" and a commitment to "Co-creation, Sharing, Co-governance, and Win-win." The initiative's debut in Asia-Pacific is a milestone in deepening China Telecom's regional ecosystem collaboration, as reported by Media OutReach Newswire.

Dr. Chomparee Chompurat, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Thailand's Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, emphasized that AI is a vital engine for Thailand's digital transformation and economic growth. Thailand is accelerating AI adoption in agriculture, manufacturing, healthcare, and public services to boost productivity and competitiveness, while strengthening digital infrastructure such as high-performance computing, cloud services, and data centers. Dr. Chompurat highlighted responsible AI governance, talent development, and international cooperation as critical pillars, and expressed Thailand's interest in deepening cooperation with partners like China Telecom.

China Telecom's technological capabilities were detailed by Liu Ziqian, General Manager of the Department of Science and Technology Innovation. The company's Xirang intelligent cloud manages more than 118 EFLOPS of computing power, and its XingChen TokenHub aggregates over 170 mainstream large models. China Telecom is also developing the XingChen AI foundation models and the TeleAgent platform, moving AI from model supply to task execution and business process applications. Globally, China Telecom operates in 53 countries and regions and is building a "2+5+X" global computing power layout. Its AI Flow technology can transmit high-definition video under extremely low bandwidth, supporting industry digital transformation.

Regional infrastructure development was addressed by Bill Chang, CEO of Nxera and Singtel's Digital InfraCo, who discussed the coordinated build-out of networks, AI data centers, GPU and AI cloud services, and orchestration platforms, envisioning an evolution from "National AI Grid" to "Cross-border AI Corridors."

Yin Jin, CEO of China Telecom Global, outlined five key areas for Asia-Pacific collaboration: AI data centers and computing power, Token operations, vision network, satellite communications, and mobile services. The overseas edition of the TeleAgent platform will debut in Asia-Pacific first, and China Telecom will pursue diverse cooperation models for its AIDC business. Memoranda of understanding were signed with Thai operators AIS and TRUE, with the TRUE cooperation focusing on Tiantong satellite services in Thailand. China Telecom's Satellite Communications Branch also signed MoUs with MEASAT Satellite Systems and Extend Networks for Tiantong satellite services in Malaysia.

The initiative matters because it formalizes a multi-country effort to build interoperable AI and digital infrastructure, potentially accelerating AI adoption and cross-border digital services across the Asia-Pacific. By integrating cloud, network, and AI resources with local partners, China Telecom aims to support industry digital transformation and position the region as a connected AI hub.
