Hong Kong Electronics Fair Debuts Future Industries Zone, Showcasing AI, Robotics and Frontier Technologies

The Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and electronicAsia opened today at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, bringing together more than 3,200 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions. Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the twin fairs run for four consecutive days and showcase innovations in consumer electronics, artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, smart living, immersive entertainment, electronic components, and advanced manufacturing technologies. The debut of the Future Industries Zone marks a significant step in Hong Kong's ambition to become an international innovation and technology centre, aligning with the government's Policy Address and the First Five-Year Plan.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Sophia Chong, HKTDC Executive Director, emphasised the fair's role in supporting Hong Kong's strategic direction. She noted that the Future Industries Zone reflects the HKTDC's commitment to evolving the fairs alongside the industry. The zone, jointly organised by the HKTDC and the Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association, and supported by the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau, focuses on five key themes: Future Computing, Future Manufacturing, Future Marine & Quantum Technologies, Future Microelectronics, and Future Wellness. Led by major innovation and technology institutions such as Cyberport, the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, and the Hong Kong Productivity Council, the zone brings together over 100 exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge technologies and applications.

The expanded RoboPark is another highlight, featuring more than 120 robots that demonstrate applications across commercial services, industrial logistics, entertainment, and healthcare. Notable exhibitors include AgiBot Innovation with its full-sized humanoid robot Agibot A3, UBTECH with its Walker C1, and DEEP Robotics with its quadruped robots Lite3 and M20. The RoboPark also includes interactive zones like the RoboDog Garden and a Robot Dance Battle, allowing visitors to experience robotics firsthand.

In addition to the technology showcase, the fairs feature the GoGlobal Connect Zone, which offers advisory services to help enterprises, particularly those from the Chinese Mainland, expand internationally through Hong Kong. This initiative underscores Hong Kong's role as a superconnector and super value-adder. The HKTDC has organised 130 buying missions from 65 countries and regions, further reinforcing Hong Kong's position as a platform connecting international markets with innovative supply chains.

The fairs also cater to startups with over 120 young enterprises in the Startup Zone, along with investment matching sessions and mentorship programmes. electronicAsia, held concurrently, covers the entire electronics supply chain, from components to manufacturing services. For those interested in attending or learning more, details are available on the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and electronicAsia websites. The HKTDC, which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, continues to promote Hong Kong as a two-way global investment and business hub through international exhibitions, conferences, and business missions.
