The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is set to stage four major technology fairs in October, reinforcing Hong Kong's position as a global hub for innovation and trade. The events—the 46th Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition), the 29th electronicAsia, the 11th Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo, and the 28th Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition)—will collectively attract around 6,200 exhibitors from 28 countries and regions, showcasing advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, smart lighting, and future industries.
At a press conference, HKTDC Associate Executive Director Silas Chu emphasized the fairs' alignment with Hong Kong's strategic push to become an international innovation and technology centre. "The Hong Kong SAR Government's latest Policy Address and first Five-Year Plan underscore the importance of consolidating and enhancing Hong Kong's status as an international trade centre, expediting the city's development into an international innovation and technology (I&T) centre and advancing the adoption and development of AI," Chu said. He added that new elements such as the Future Industries Zone and GoGlobal Connect Zone aim to connect companies with funding, talent, technology, and international markets.
The Autumn Electronics Fair and electronicAsia, running from 13 to 16 October at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, will together host over 3,200 exhibitors. A key highlight is the new Future Industries Zone, supported by the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau, focusing on five themes: Future Computing, Future Manufacturing, Future Marine & Quantum Technologies, Future Microelectronics, and Future Wellness. Industry leaders like Lenovo and AV Concept will join over 100 exhibitors, alongside forums featuring prominent speakers such as Jeffrey Lam and Clara Chan. The zone will also announce the Top 100 Future Industries Pioneer List, recognizing innovative products with commercial potential.
