Intershop Communications AG, a global provider of agentic B2B commerce solutions, today announced the Spring 2026 Release of the Intershop Commerce Platform. The release focuses on practical AI, introducing capabilities that make it easier for B2B merchants to adopt and scale AI solutions in daily commerce operations.
“The cost/benefit calculation for adopting AI hasn’t always been straightforward for B2B merchants,” says Markus Dranert, CEO of Intershop. “With the Spring 2026 Release, we're showcasing how AI makes a real impact across the buyer and merchant journeys. Our pre-integrated copilots and agents provide our customers with an easy entry point into agentic commerce.”
Building on previous releases, Intershop advances practical AI designed for specific use cases and measurable ROI. The LLM-powered Copilot for Buyers now supports aftersales scenarios, using contextual data like installed base information and technical specifications. It can send service reminders, link with manufacturer systems for maintenance, and recognize dirty or damaged spare parts via the Visual Product Finder.
Product discovery enhancements include ACP product feeds, making catalogs searchable in LLM-based environments like ChatGPT. The Product Content Agent automatically provides generative engine optimizations (GEO) on top of SEO improvements.
Released into beta in fall 2025, the Copilot for Merchants is now generally available with a critical mass of agents and proactive workflows. New capabilities include an agent task overview for scheduling and monitoring tasks, with agents providing summaries and recommending next steps. The Competitive Intelligence Agent tracks market developments and competitor activity, summarizing insights for data-driven decisions. Over time, users will manage core platform functions through natural-language prompts, reducing navigation of complex back-office environments.
To support adoption, Intershop introduces a unified pricing model for AI capabilities. Customers choose credit-based subscriptions providing flexible access across all copilots and agents, instead of licensing individual components. “The bottom line matters for merchants, who are under economic pressure to do more with less,” says Nils Breitmann, Senior Director of Artificial Intelligence at Intershop. “The new packages lower the barrier for merchants to test AI, prove its value, and stay flexible as they grow.”
