In his new role, Shukla will lead Meeder's data and technology strategy, including the development of enterprise platforms and artificial intelligence initiatives. His responsibilities bring together technology modernization, data capabilities and emerging technologies to support the firm's long-term strategic objectives. This consolidation of data, AI and technology under a single executive underscores the growing importance of these areas in asset management.
Shukla brings more than two decades of experience leading enterprise transformation across investment management and financial services. Prior to joining Meeder, he served as Head of Data, AI, and Technology at Heitman, where he modernized global technology architecture, streamlined investment operating platforms, and established enterprise data management, analytics, and AI capabilities. Shukla expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity: "Meeder has a strong foundation, an entrepreneurial culture and a clear commitment to investing in its future. There is tremendous opportunity to bring together data, AI and technology in ways that make our teams more effective, strengthen our capabilities and ultimately enhance how we serve our clients."
The appointment carries significant implications for Meeder and the broader investment management industry. By adding technology leadership to its top decision-making body, Meeder acknowledges that data and AI are no longer back-office functions but central to strategic success. This move could position the firm to better leverage emerging technologies, improve operational efficiency, and deliver enhanced client outcomes. As asset managers face increasing pressure to innovate, Meeder's decision to elevate technology expertise to the highest levels may set a precedent for peers, signaling that technology leadership is essential for future growth and competitiveness. Shukla's deep experience in both investment management and technology makes him well-suited to bridge these domains and drive meaningful change.
