Edgewater Wireless Systems Inc. (TSXV: YFI) (OTC: KPIFF), a pioneer in AI-powered Wi-Fi Spectrum Slicing silicon solutions, has received a direct strategic investment from Silicon Catalyst Angels I, LLC (SCA) as part of its recently completed private placement. This follows an earlier investment from another strategically aligned semiconductor investor, signaling growing confidence in Edgewater's technology as it advances toward prototype validation and commercial engagements.

The investment from SCA, which is connected to the Silicon Catalyst ecosystem, brings not only capital but also deep semiconductor industry expertise. SCA was established in 2019 to provide seed and Series A funding to Silicon Catalyst Portfolio Companies, and its members include experienced semiconductor executives, technologists, and investors. This strategic alignment is expected to bolster Edgewater's development of its PrismIQ platform and next-generation Spectrum Slicing roadmap.

Edgewater's Spectrum Slicing technology aims to redefine Wi-Fi by enabling multiple concurrent channels in a single band, intelligently mitigating congestion, and managing spectrum allocation in real-time. This approach promises significant improvements in performance and latency, which are critical for high-reliability Wi-Fi and emerging high-performance applications, especially as the industry transitions to Wi-Fi 7 and beyond.

Brian Imrie, Chairman of Edgewater, also increased his investment in the company, demonstrating strong insider alignment. Imrie stated, "My additional investment reflects my confidence in Edgewater's technology, team, and commercial traction." The combined investments from SCA and Imrie add strategic capital as Edgewater moves from engineering development toward prototype validation and partner demonstrations.

The company expects to achieve important engineering and ecosystem milestones in the coming period, with an initial product release planned for the first half of 2027. Andrew Skafel, President and CEO of Edgewater, commented on the investment, saying, "Experienced semiconductor investors understand where value can be created: when differentiated technology moves into visible execution. SCA's direct investment is a validation of our novel approach and strengthens Edgewater's strategic investor base."

The private placement involved the issuance of units, each consisting of one common share and one warrant, at a price of $0.06 per unit. The second tranche raised gross proceeds of $287,979.96, including Imrie's participation of $96,000. Together with the first tranche, the company has issued 11,955,545 units for aggregate gross proceeds of $717,332.70. The proceeds will be used for semiconductor design, engineering, and product development related to the Spectrum Slicing prototype, as well as general working capital.

This investment follows Edgewater's selection as a Silicon Catalyst Portfolio Company in November 2024. Since then, the company has gained access to over 500 industry experts and millions of dollars in in-kind design, fabrication, and commercialization resources. SCA's participation further strengthens Edgewater's strategic relationships and access to capital markets, positioning it for future growth.

As Edgewater advances its Spectrum Slicing technology, it aims to deliver 10x improvements in performance and up to 50% lower latency, even for legacy devices. With 26 patents granted and 3 AI-related patents pending, the company is well-positioned to transform the economics of Wi-Fi for service providers, OEMs, and enterprises.
