The 35th Education & Careers Expo, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will take place from January 22 to 25, 2026, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, featuring over 860 organizations from 23 countries and regions. This year's event is structured into distinct "Education" and "Careers" sections, with an upgraded "CV Clinic" offering new services like Personal Colour Analysis and a 16 Personality Types Magic Quiz to help job seekers better understand their strengths and plan career paths. Smilely Lam, Assistant Executive Director of the HKTDC, emphasized the Expo's theme, "Go with Your Passion, Go Beyond Limits," which spans four themed days focusing on Civil Servants & Public Services, Next Gen Technologies, Healthcare & Wellness, and Greater Bay Area Opportunities to align with social development and market needs.
The Expo includes special seminars to inspire university and overseas students to explore employment opportunities in Hong Kong, showcasing the advantages of local institutions' diverse courses and international recognition. This supports Hong Kong's role as an education hub, as highlighted in the 2025 Policy Address. A themed seminar, "A Date with Giants," will feature representatives from enterprises such as J.P. Morgan and Lenovo to encourage exploration of careers in technology, finance, and entrepreneurship. The China Hong Kong Elite Union will invite "Hong Kong Drifters," Mainland students studying in Hong Kong, to share their experiences from education to employment, providing insights for non-local students. Additionally, the principal of Hong Kong Chinese Women’s Club College and alumni will share tips for achieving top results in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination.
The "Education" section is divided into four zones: "Local Studies," "Non-Hong Kong Education," "Lifelong Learning," and "Youth Zone." In "Local Studies," institutions like the Vocational Training Council will showcase the SOPHIE 8x model, winner of the World Solar Challenge, to highlight technology talent development. The Hong Kong Institute of Construction will present immersive learning experiences such as the "AI Tower Crane Simulator," using AI technology to simulate construction sites and foster positive perceptions of the industry. New application-oriented programs in robotics and automation engineering will be introduced to meet global demand for tech talent. The "Non-Hong Kong Education" zone offers study abroad advisory services covering Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Belt and Road countries, while "Lifelong Learning" and "Youth Zone" provide further education and industry information for professionals and young people, with organizations like the Employees Retraining Board offering skills training and consultation services.
On the employment front, the "Careers" and "Recruitment Square" zones will feature over 30 government departments and public organizations, including the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Airport Authority Hong Kong, and Civil Service Bureau, reflecting strong demand for young talent in public service. The "Recruitment Square" offers employment information and onsite interviews, while the upgraded "CV Clinic" includes six services: one-to-one CV consultations and professional portrait photography by Jobsdb; 1:1 Trainee Programme & Career Consultation and an Aptitude Test Ready Station by MT20 Consulting Limited; onsite Personal Colour Analysis by clincolour; and the 2026 edition of the "16 Personality Types Magic Quiz" by CTgoodjobs. Job seekers can reserve these services in advance via the Education & Careers Expo website, with quotas allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
During the Expo, four themed days will host over 100 activities with industry experts sharing insights on innovation, public service careers, and working holiday programs. Highlights include sessions with singer-songwriter Serrini, who holds a PhD from the University of Hong Kong, film screenwriters and directors, and DJ "Ah Jeng." Skill-training sessions and interactive activities, such as a mock TV studio by Radio Television Hong Kong, will be available for parents and children. Themed events include seminars by the Civil Service Bureau on January 22, discussions on technology prospects by organizations like Hong Kong Electric on January 23, talks on healthcare and wellness on January 24, and a session on Greater Bay Area entrepreneurship by Calvin Tse on January 25. Seats for activities are limited, and pre-registration online is encouraged, with visitors able to enjoy an "Instant Career Snapshot" AI photo experience and receive complimentary souvenirs.
