ZenaTech Establishes Taiwan Manufacturing Office to Secure NDAA-Compliant Drone Components for US Military Contracts

ZenaTech, Inc. has announced that company principals are participating in a Trade Mission to Taipei, Taiwan as part of an Arizona Commerce Authority delegation, with the goal of opening a manufacturing office for its Spider Vision Sensors Ltd. subsidiary. This strategic move establishes the company's first Asian manufacturing presence and addresses critical supply chain requirements for US military contracts.

The Taiwan facility will manufacture drone sensors and components to be integrated with ZenaDrone multifunction autonomous AI drones produced at company facilities in Sharjah, UAE, and future facilities in Phoenix, Arizona. CEO and CTO are currently in Taiwan finalizing manufacturing office facilities, meeting with potential partners, and completing registration tasks to establish and open the company in November.

Taiwan was selected due to its established electronics manufacturing capabilities and the availability of low-cost alternative components versus those from China. This location choice is crucial for achieving NDAA compliance, which refers to adhering to the provisions outlined in the National Defense Authorization Act that specifies budget and expenditures for the Department of Defense.

The manufacturing operation will produce drone sensors, electronics, and components including LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging), thermal, infrared, multi-spectral, and hyper sensors, cameras, and printed circuit boards. This vertical integration ensures a reliable supply of input components for drones destined for US military customers, which will be manufactured in Arizona facilities.

This expansion supports ZenaTech's qualification for the Blue USA program, a stringent government-approved supplier list of drone companies that wish to do business with the Department of Defense. Suppliers must meet strict NDAA cyber security and supply chain sourcing requirements, including component sourcing from US-friendly countries.

The Arizona Commerce Authority, as the state's economic development organization, has been a longstanding partner of ZenaDrone and facilitated this international trade mission. This partnership underscores the strategic importance of maintaining supply chain security while expanding manufacturing capabilities in geopolitically stable regions.

By establishing manufacturing operations in Taiwan rather than China, ZenaTech ensures its drone components are cost-effective and originate from US-friendly countries, addressing growing concerns about technology security and supply chain reliability in defense applications. This move positions the company to capitalize on the expanding market for NDAA-compliant drone systems while mitigating risks associated with component sourcing from potentially adversarial nations.
